Footwear design and development institute also known as FDDI catering to footwear demand from various categories of consumers

It’s just a few days away from the big day when Footwear design and development institute will hold its AIST joint entrance exam for admission to various undergraduate and post graduate courses in footwear design and development. The exam is due to be held on 7thJune 1017-9th June 2017.Applicant are gearing to seek admission in various courses as it guarantees a lucrative career. Not only does it open various aspects and career fields but also exposes the students to international market in the field of footwear and leather goods.

The leather good industry in India itself is booming as the demand for footwear and leather goods is increasing with every passing day. There was a time when people did not pay much attention to their footwear and would be happy with just one or two pairs of shoes, however things are not the same now. Now a day’s people like to team up different kind of shoes with different kind of clothes. FDDI in the recent past has completed very critical projects such as manufacturing footwear for police and personnel from air force. Other than that they have also come up with specialised shoes to cater to the demand of people below the poverty line. These type of shoes are known as the budget shoes.


The main aim of FDDI is that each and every person in India must have a proper footwear to wear in different climatic condition. The students therefore are taught to understand the demand and thus decide on a suitable price which can be affordable by the consumer. Apart from that they are also targeting to capture the international demand so that they can earn foreign exchange by internationals consumers.
